From time to time (once a year), the wedding industry puts out a report based on the past year’s surveys from newly married couples. These couples are from all over, not just Chicago. in this report from Weddingwire.com, the NATIONAL AVERAGE for a wedding DJ is $1200, and Chicago weddings average around $35,000, which is in the TOP 5 for wedding costs. You will also see in this report that on average it takes 13 months from start to finish to plan a wedding. DJs usually fall in somewhere around 2-7 months out from the big day (This is where I come in). Trying to hire a DJ 2 months before your wedding day is a double-edged sword, because you may be limited to the number of DJs available due to them already being booked, and now you may end up suffering because you might risk quality and find a DJ with less experience. Now, I’m not saying you should book a DJ the day after you get engaged, but sometimes you will find a great DJ with years of experience at a price that is with your budget within the first couple of months rather than in the last couple of months. Sometimes, those great DJs may offer discounts (do I risk saying FREEBIES).
Weddings have changed from 20 years ago. Mom and Dad are on just as much of a budget as the couple that is getting married. Sometimes, they might not be able to help out at all. Couples are having to “flip the bill” on their own more and more these days. I know of a couple who has been married for almost 10 years that are still paying off their wedding because they went “ALL OUT”. New couples are finding ways to have that “ALL OUT” experience with out having to do so. We would like to help you get that experience, so please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
